Our whenua (land)

We are tangata whenua, guardians of the land. We have an intimate relationship with the landscape, a rich cultural heritage, which guides our actions and protects our natural world. The manuka and the regenerative natural ecosystem in which it grows, and blossoms, is in our protection.

We’re passionate about our Mānuka, our ecosystems and our responsibility to the whenua in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

We source the essence of Mānuka  in the most beautiful and remote ecosystems in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The flora and fauna that evolved in Aotearoa New Zealand are unique, and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It’s the native Mānuka tree that flourishes in Aotearoa from which we harvest our extraordinary honey. The finest quality Mānuka Honey is produced from regions dense with Mānuka blossoms and isolated from other flowering plants or trees.

By carefully selecting special ecosystems, we can ensure collection of maunka honey from some of the most pristine Mānuka forests. Each Mānuka ecosystem registered with the government and cared for by our specialist team.

The whenua is not ours, they are only ours to care for and hand on. This guides us to be deliberate and active in how we nurture, protect and use well, those resources available to us to ensure that they are accessible to the generations after us.

Our commitment is demonstrated through our Toitū carbon reduce certification and the development of a tribal climate change response strategy, recognising the climate change risks to our organisation and businesses and providing guidance on our future mahi (work).

We do everything we can to tread lightly on the whenua (land).
